Just Like You Films is a Mid-American Emmy award winning, woman run, non-for-profit film production company creating powerful tools in the drive for acceptance. Their mission is to end bullying and create a kinder world for kids living with unique circumstances like severe burn injuries, cancer, Down syndrome, autism, diabetes, facial anomalies, food allergies, and anxiety disorders and depression. Through the power of cinematic storytelling, Just Like You Films aims to help raise a global generation of kids who, because of their knowledge and understanding, are more empathetic and compassionate people; showing us all, how we are more alike than we are different.

The Hope Scarf began from these artworks created by six individuals who star in Just Like You Films. After being given the prompt 'What makes you happy', each artist created their own masterpiece. Each work of art expresses the artist’s individuality and spirit—and collectively symbolize the optimism and hope of creating a kinder, more inclusive world.

Each work of art expresses the artist’s individuality and spirit—and collectively symbolize the optimism and hope of creating a kinder, more inclusive world.

McKenna Bamesberger

McKenna stars in Just Like You - Anxiety + Depression . Morgan's artwork reflects her love of butterflies which she finds to be very 'peaceful' and 'elegant'. She created this abstract work to show the butterflies flying off the page.

Winston Bertrand

Winston stars in Just Like You - Facial Anomalies. Winston created two colorful artworks, one that represents his home and one of a smile—because he loves to smile!

Rachel Mast

Rachel stars in Just Like You - Down Syndrome. Rachel is very loyal to the people she knows and loves and wanted to paint a bear that represents the college she attended, Missouri State University. She added a heart in the center to represent what makes her 'heart happy'. Her other painting depicts multiple hearts and her favorite quote, "Have courage, and be kind.

Morgan Muehlberger

Morgan stars in Just Like You - Anxiety + Depression . Morgan painted this piece to reflect her newfound love of plants.

Elyssa Schmitz

Elyssa stars in Just Like You - Down Syndrome. Elyssa is a multi-disciplined artist who loves both music and painting. She painted beautiful flowers blowing in the wind as a reminder of her home in Kansas. She says painting and creativity come naturally to her.

Carrie Hudson Williams

Carrie stars in Just Like You - Cancer. Carrie painted a camera to represent her love of photography which she says "represents the sharing of stories and perspectives." She also painted 'HOPE' in honor of her friend and co-star Hope Corwin who lost her battle with cancer about a year after the film was created.
